What Necessitates Shock & Vibration Isolators?
Transportation:
Transporting a cabinet from point A to B can often result in severe shock and vibration inputs as described in various industry specifications such as MIL-STD-810, or ISTA 3H. Sensitive electronics inside need to be protected from common road bumps to more severe off-roading conditions.
Shock Protection:
Many applications, especially in the defense or space market, can see acceleration levels that are well over 100 Gs. In these environments, even ruggedized electronics can see instant failure or a reduction in service life. Shock isolators can significantly reduce and isolate these inputs allowing equipment to work as intended in the toughest conditions.
Low Amplitude Vibrations:
Different environments can contain small amplitude vibrations at various frequency ranges. These can originate from small generators, fans, various testing equipment and more. These vibrations can cause damage and disrupt equipment from working as intended.
On the other hand, various electronic components or testing equipment will produce vibrations while operating. These vibrations can be experienced by other nearby systems and cause excessive wear and tear. An isolation system will isolate these vibrations and prevent any disruptions.

Isolators can be used in a wide range of orientation for improved overall stability and performance. Isolators can be mounted at the bottom, back, or top of the enclosure depending on specific application requirements.
System parameters such as static weight and C.G location are carefully considered when selecting an isolation system. We will adjust isolator stiffness based on C.G location to ensure a stable and level system.
